Support Worker
Description

Support workers report to the designated supervisory staff. Support workers are responsible
for providing supportive services and a safe environment for the clients in the home. This is a full-time
position and will only be scheduled as needed. Shift work: 10-to-12-hour shifts.

Responsibilities

Assist in providing support in areas of choice for: medical, physical, emotional, spiritual and mental
wellness.
• Assist clients with personal hygiene and grooming while respecting their personal choice.
• Assist and support the client in recreation and leisure participation and planning in either the home or
community setting.
• Daily documentation and incident reports.

Qualifications

Minimum Grade 12.
• Experience working with individuals with cognitive disabilities.
• First Aid & CPR an asset; Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
• Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) training preferred.
• Must have excellent written, verbal and communication skills.
• Must be able to multitask in a fast-paced, high stress work environment.
