3rd Annual MMIW/MMIP Awareness/Memorial Run

Join us on Friday, May 5th, 2023 for Onion Lake Cree Nation’s 3rd MMIW/MMIP RUN.
The day will begin with a prayer ceremony for runners at 8:00 AM, followed by a walk from Chief Taylor Parking Lot to Kihew Waciston at 9:30 AM. The runners will then start their journey from Kihew Waciston to the MMIW/MMIP Site at 10:00 AM, arriving at 10:45 AM. The program will begin with open remarks at 11:00 AM, hosted by Mr. Grant Whitstone as the Master of Ceremonies.
The program will include an honor song and MMIW song by SHS Drum Group and community members, planting of the tree(s), songs by Onion Lake Ladies and Saskaskohc High School Drum Group, and speeches by Chief and Council, Education Board Member Rhonda Cardinal, Janet Trottier for MMIW/MMIP, and Lianna MacDonald for families.
